What's an algorithm?
Many students had never heard of this word before a week and a half ago. We just finished a series of group problem solving activities where students ended up discovering how to write their own algorithm for adding and subtracting fractions. Students, what did you learn through this activity? Parents, ask your student what they learned! We'll be using the algorithm tomorrow when we hit section 4-3 in our textbook.
